Tongue numb, hair mussed up, body rank of the stench of old ale, mouth dry as a dry riverbed, Gerald dragged himself off of his father's estate's grass. He had once again had far too much ale at the local tavern, it was becoming a nightly ritual. He usually drank only a pint or two, harassed the lasses and left. Though lately he had just not been satisfied with the usual, he had been feeling hollow and needed excitement so he started bar room brawls. He laughed to himself as he reminisced last night's scuffle, it was another lad that seemed to be of noble birth and not behaving as such. He had had far more ale than Gerald had, the man could barely even stand. It had ended with both being thrown out by the very large owner of the tavern.
Looking about him Gerald noticed that the hunting hounds were laying on top of something, he assumed it to be their latest deer they had killed, they acted more like a pack of wolves than trained dogs to guard nobles. Shooing the beasts away Gerald noticed a hand beneath the smaller ones bottom. "Oh Lord! Don't tell me you've killed a person!" Gerald shoved the dogs away and nudged the face down figure. The man was breathing so they hadn't killed him. Breathing a sigh of relief, Gerald flipped the man over and saw that it was his opponent from the evening before.

Edward knew he had to wake up-all he could see was complete darkness. He didn't feel like it though, for if he did that, that would mean he would've had to get up and find out where he was. Well, he had no choice now did he?
Edward sat up slowly, blinking multiple times, trying to get the hazy image in front of him to turn clear. He lifted a hand to his head, feeling a strong headache approaching. This wasn't good. Edward looked around lazily, seeing that there was someone next to him. For all he knew, it could've been a girl. However, seeing that he was wrong, he was disappointed.
He looked around, seeing that he was sitting in a field. How had he ended up here? What had happened last night? And who was this strange man on his side? Edward then felt a shot of pain in his head, realizing the worst had started. Hangovers were the worst. Edward then tried to get up, realizing that he hadn't even moved at all. Deciding not to even bother to try again, he looked over at the man beside him.
"Um.....w-who are yo-you?"
he asked groggily.
