~~~~~~ HISTORY[/b]
History:
Demor never truly knew of her family, as far as she was concerned the old farmer and his wife were her parents. As it turned out their blond hair and green eyes was not part of Demor's genetics. As a child she was left in a basket on the front porch of Farmer Herny's home. They had taken her in and raised her as their own, as their own children had gone off to war or been married off. They were loving parents but one night, while Demor had gone out to fetch water for dinner, the house caught fire. Killing the two lovely people that Demor would forever hold in her hearts.
Demor no longer had a home or belongings, so she went to be a begger. She picked pockets innocently at age 10, at age 14 a man caught her picking his pocket. He told her she would work for him or have her hands chopped off. Demor was fond of her hands so she went to work for him. She thought it would be better than living on the streets. For six years she worked for that horrible man, the scars on her back stung just thinking about him.
Fortantly, her luck had not run out as she was thrown in front of a man that had taken kindly to her. He told her she reminded him on her own daughter. He gave her a home, food, clothing, an education, safety, and hope. Things were beginning to look up for her.
"No!" I screamed as the chicken I had spent hours trying to catch got out of my grasp. I ran after it but only stumbled falling onto the soft grass. I sighed, this would take all day. My brother Hasid should have been doing this. He was the strong farm boy, I was the smart pasty little brother.
"Earnen!" someone yelled, I saw the mass of black hair running towards me. I leaned on my elbows seeing my little sister, Deidra. I smiled seeing the smiling girl, her bright blue eyes sparkling.
"Deidra!" I mimicked her. She smiled, jumping on me.
"Come on, let's go home," I took her little hand in my own.
The six year old smiled up at me as we walked the path to get back home.
"Ernie?" Deidra looked up at me unsure.
I smiled,"what is it, Dee?"
"Can you do your magic trick for me?"
I sighed but seeing her pleading eyes, I smiled and knelt down. I uttered two words in a language that no one truly understood. I opened my hand showing her the small daisy and handed it to her.
She smiled taking it from me,"your eyes turn gold when you do that."
I smiled and took her hand once again,"I know."
"It's cool," she commented playing with the flower.
"Uh huh," I nodded but a frown formed on my lips. It wasn't cool, it was dangerous. If the Zaric found out they were hunt me down and hurt my family. Then they'd force me to work for them, which I never wanted to do.
Spiritus Draco: Gosh, that's toasty!
