~~~~~~ HISTORY
History: In the northernmost regions of Ellion, a silvery dragon known as the “The Morning Star” walks among men as a beautiful young man with silver hair and shocking blue eyes. However, the beautiful exterior belies a twisted core, and he sows chaos where ever he goes, plotting to gain power with deception and lies rather than brute force. The steward of the northern lands, High Lord Damian Eoghain, was a strong and powerful man who kept the savage lands from falling to anarchy. He relied heavily on his wife Lady Hannah Eoghain, a renowned beauty in the land and was remarkably skilled at politics, keeping watch when her husband had to return to the capitol. On one such occasion, The Morning Star decided to strike at the core of the north. Posing as “Galad Tel’amon” a state representative from a neighboring country, he gained access to Lady Hannah. With the aid of magic and a practiced warmth and sincerity Galad seduced Hannah and spent a night of passion with her. Unbeknownst to Hannah, a child was conceived from their union. Damian returned soon after Galad left and several months later Hannah was unsuspiciously found with child. However, as the pregnancy went on, Hannah became more ill than standard childbearing warranted. She was drained, as if life itself was being sucked away. When finally time came for the child to be born, her body gave out and she died upon the bed. The child was cut from her womb and found gloriously alive and quite strong, with piercing blue eyes. Thus Cadeyrn, the half-dragon lordling was born, and was christened with a rumor of “the child who was baptized in blood and death.”
The rumors and stories around Cade persisted, as he grew older. He grew remarkably in strength and fighting prowess, so that even at fourteen he could best any of his father’s knights in any martial skill. By sixteen he had slain his first dragon and by eighteen he held his first command over troops in the Northern Company. Cade’s confidence in battle and physical power are an encouragement to the men. Those who fight with him claim his fury matches the dragon’s and that a battle between the two would be a fight between equals. As such he is intensely popular with the common people, as somewhat of a heroic legend.
However, amongst nobles he is regarded with fear and jealousy. Rumors say he is aiming for the throne, biding his time and amassing favor with the people in order to stage a coup and kill the king. Others say he will split off the northern regions and create a new kingdom. And still others say he will destroy the kingdom entirely, that he is a dragon or a sorcerer bent on an evil path, though these are generally looked down upon as fanciful. At the heart of every rumor however, is a silver haired blue eyed “nobleman” with the latest gossip.
Random Facts: Cade is half-dragon, he fights with a spear handled sword,
As the bastard son of a dragon he would be the most hated and wanted criminal if that secret were ever to be revealed to the king. However, he is currently unaware of his lineage himself.
RP Sample: The sky burned red with smoke and the air shimmered in the heat of the fires burning in what used to be a mining town of the northern borderlands. Cadeyrn Eohgain stood in the town square, facing the carnage of the hundred miners who once lived here. Traitors, every one of them, he knew this, but it did not make the slaughter any easier. They were men, but perverted by sorcery and the promises of the dragons. They had fallen to depravity and sacrificed men to their dark god in reptilian form. How could this happen to good men like these? It was a small consolidation that the beast now lay crumpled and lifeless, in a pool of its own thick dark blood. He glared up at the flag on the central pole, a crude claw symbol lay on a field of black written in the bright red paint used to mark mineral veins. It ruffled gently in the waves of heat, as if still alive, mocking the kingdom. “Tear it down,” he shouted, “and raise the banner of the King. Let the beasts know that we are masters of this land. Let us rejoice in our humanity for today we are free!” He raised his long hafted sword high and bellowed in defiance, joined by his men to make an echoing roar that beat against the mountain walls.
Spiritus Draco: Gosh, that’s toasty.
